All the branches of the Great Silk Road that led to Turkistan and China, India and the South Caucasus, Iran and Byzantium and further to Europe, crossed in Central Asia, in the territory of today’s Uzbekistan. More than two thousand years ago settlements appeared at the crossroads of the lively caravan trails, which gave rise to the largest cities such as Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Termez, and Shakhrisabz. Many nationalities met one another in that area, states arose and declined, philosophical theories were formed and spread together with Zoroastrian, Buddhist and Islamic religions. The cities, located along the Great Silk Road, still remember the invasion of Alexander the Great, the conquest of the Arabs, the invasion of Genghis Khan, as well as the reign of the great scientist Ulugbek and existence of the best poets and thinkers of the East.
Silk Road Tour in Uzbekistan is one of the most intensive tours, which lasts over two weeks and consists of visiting 12 cities of the country. You will visit workshops and factories, enjoy the national cuisine, and folklore shows. Grandiose ancient buildings decorated with amazing ceramic ornaments, the unique fuss, and colors of the eastern markets and the hospitality of the local people – all these will surely leave an indelible impression on your memory.
