Nowruz was established as an official holiday in the presence of Achaemenid Empire (VI in BC) in honor of the religious festival of Zoroastrianism. It is celebrated annually on 21st of March, on the day of spring solstice, when the duration of a day and night is equal. The holiday name is translated as “new day”, “new world” and means New Year. Navruz symbolizes the harmonious interaction between nature and human beings.
So, since ancient times, the inhabitants of agricultural oases have been celebrating this holiday by arranging folk festivals.
